Richie El
Hey, I’m Richie! I’m easygoing and don’t take myself too seriously!
Music is what I live for and provides me with meaning in life. I see it as a way for us humans to connect with one another on a level that cannot be experienced through other means.
I’m mainly a singer but I play guitar and a little bit of piano as well. I also write songs and I draw much of my influence from popular music of today and all the way back to the 1950s! That leaves me well-versed with a wide array of songs from all sorts of genres like Pop, Rock, Soul, R&B and Country.
I believe that my role in helping students is to learn about who they are as a person and nurture their development in a way that is best suited for their unique personalities. I also adopt a corrective approach to coaching, focusing on the gaps that I feel should be addressed first and moving on from there.
I started learning music when I was 17 after getting accepted into the Diploma of Music & Audio Technology course at Singapore Polytechnic where I learned about music theory, composition and songwriting. During my years there, I began singing for live gigs at bars and private events, which I still do today too. I’ve been around the professional music circuit for close to 10 years.
I have an EP of original music released on streaming platforms and I am currently in the process of releasing more music as an indie artist in Singapore.
