More than often referred to as one of the most contemporaneous of artists in Singapore for having genre infusing habits, rapper/singer-songwriter Jake Joshua DeRoy, or better known as JJDROY (jay-jay-deroy) has been dubbed a hybrid and epitomised to be second to none. Known for his knack in accelerating flows and sly wordplay, JJDROY is seamlessly razor sharp with his pen game, making him a top draw for collaborations with established local artists. From heavy-hitting lyrical ammo alongside the likes of Axel Brizzy, TENGY, and Opus Renegade to trap soul vibes with Adam Jazzlan and nu-metal trap with AE$OP CA$H just to name a few. His 7 track pop punk project labelled FORGET has also received praise for its heartfelt lyrics and nostalgic sound from the early 2000s.
His ventures with metalcore band Reserate in 2021 have also added to his already diverse discography, with their song Cynic topping the Beats & Rhymes, Border Beats and New Music Friday playlists and having the opportunity to perform live with the band at Baybeats Festival 2022. Atop his other early accolades, he has also graced the stage of Gastrobeats 2022, performing alongside a lineup consisting of artists such as Jon Chua JX and ShiGGa Shay.
