Coming from a background in classical music, I’ve now immersed myself in the captivating realms of contemporary ranging from pop to jazz and anything else in between. Music isn’t just a hobby for me—it’s a way of life. I’m passionate about sharing the joy of music with enthusiastic learners like yourself!
In my musical journey, I’ve had the pleasure of being part of Omnitones, a 4-piece band collaborating on Dick Lee’s original music. Additionally, I’ve performed swing music alongside Sinclair Ang’s Rhythmakers. From renowned venues like the Esplanade Concert Hall, Botanic Gardens, and Gardens By The Bay to smaller settings for public and private events, gigs big and small – I’ve done them all.
As an educator, I specialize in teaching the art of improvisation and playing by ear in contemporary styles.
In my lessons, you can expect comprehensive instruction covering various aspects, including music performance (technical skills and execution), music arrangement, music theory, music transcription, deep listening and analysis, and of course, improvisation and playing by ear. I aim to bridge the gap between the theoretical study of music and practical performance, ensuring a well-rounded musical education.
